Comments & Activity
Comments
Comments let you have a conversation about a specific string without cluttering your Slack or email. They live on the string itself, so the context never gets lost.
To leave a comment, open a string in the editor and click Add comment. Comments are visible to everyone on the team, and they're not locale-specific by default (a comment about the English source is just as relevant to the French translator).
You can pin a comment to a specific locale if the note only applies to one language.
Activity feed
Every change to a Hive is logged. Open the Activity tab in the Hive view to see a timeline of what happened: who created or updated strings, who translated and approved what, and when.
This is useful for auditing, for onboarding new translators ("here's what's been happening"), and for debugging ("who changed this string and when?").
Notifications
Stringhive sends notifications when strings are translated or approved. Team members get notified for activity in Hives they have access to, except for their own actions (you don't get notified about things you did yourself).
Notifications appear in the bell icon in the top navigation. Email notifications are sent for significant updates.
